Had a couple of days in the Barossa and this was our first stop.

We also ordered their platter which was amazing.
If you can, sit outside in their garden. The whole experience was just beautiful and we will definitely visit there again on our next visit to the Barossa

July 26, 2020Unfortunately our visit to Kalleske was neither welcoming nor personalised. There were 3 staff members behind the counter when we entered. They were talking to each other (work related) but... read more took almost 30 seconds to look up and acknowledge us. Thirty seconds is a long time.
There are 5 different tasting experiences on offer, with none of them explained or elaborated on in any way so couldn't make an informed choice. Then the tasting itself involved a plank with fairly generous pours and tasting sheet with descriptions. The staff tell you nothing.
Very impersonal. Some of the wines were quite nice.
With so many wonderful cellar doors in the Barossa, I would not put this one on my 'to visit' list again.

We did a short wine tasting at the bar and both found a bottle we liked which we enjoyed drinking later with dinner in our cottage accommodation.
