The Barossa Cellar

Being part of a ground breaking regional project such as the Barossa Cellar and the Barossa Cellar Vineyard is a humbling experience. The Barossa Cellar Vineyard brings together the Barossa’s most prestigious vineyards from some of the oldest and most world-renowned plantings.

The focus of the Barossa Cellar Vineyard is of course Shiraz, the signature variety of the Barossa Valley with cuttings for the one-hectare Shiraz vineyard sourced from iconic old vine and heritage vineyards from across the Barossa and Eden Valleys.

The Kalleske family is really proud to be the owners of one of only 35 old vine source vineyards for the Barossa Cellar Vineyard Block by donating cuttings from the 1875 planting Johann Georg Shiraz. Baron of Barossa, Troy Kalleske was recently involved in the planting of the 1hectare vineyard has now become the home to approximately 1800 vine cuttings. Each vine has been made available for anyone to ‘purchase’ giving the donor the unique opportunity to invest in the perpetuity of The Barossa Cellar. If you have ever dreamed about owning a historic vine in a celebrated wine region you can now secure your very own vine for $1000. There is still limited availability of Kalleske 1875 Johann Georg Vines in the Barossa Cellar Block

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT HOW TO BECOME A VINE DONOR

What you receive as a donor:

A virtual vineyard will be created on The Barossa Cellar website, enabling Barossa Vine donors to ‘visit’ their vine. Vine donors will be kept informed of the vineyards development, progress and seasonal activities.

Once the vineyard is bearing, a limited release wine will be made by Barossa winemakers and aged in locally coopered oak barrels for up to two years before being bottled. We anticipate the first vintage will be 2022, which will be released in 2025. Barossa Vine donors will have first option to buy this special, limited release wine.
